<p>There’s a fine line however, when is a person too independent? If they prefer to be alone, then being in a relationship ends up being a matter of convenience, not one of sharing.</p>
<p>And I need to know that I won’t have to defend my actions when I need to do things without my partner. It isn’t very often, but there are times that I do prefer to meet with old friends and we end up talking about people that we’ve known for ages. It isn’t much fun for a partner to have to listen to and I get uncomfortable with trying to keep them interested so they won’t become bored.</p>
<p>It’s about as much fun as taking your spouse to your class reunion. I think it’s more work that it’s worth. They should look for something more entertaining than being subjected to listening to old stories about their partner.</p>
